Opportunities:Graduate Research
Here you will find information on how to apply for perfomring research and working with me towards a graduate degree, as well as a list of various fellowships that may be available to you. Please note that, due to the general scarcity of funding resources, I do not provide funding (like research/teaching assistantships and/or tuition support) to graduate students unless I accept them as mentees and they commit to perform their MS or doctoral research with me.
Graduate Student Recruiting

I am constantly on the lookout for new students wanting to pursue a Master's or Ph.D. degree in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering with a special interest in Machine Learning research. In order to see what my research is about, please visit my Research pages. Make sure you also visit my Mentoring page, where I describe what I expect from my graduate mentees, as well as what my mentees can expect from me. If you would like me to consider you as a candidate graduate mentee, first please send me via email the following material in Adobe PDF, ASCII text or MS Word format:
-
Current Curriculum Vitae. Please ensure your CV sufficiently describes any prior
research activities and experience you may have had. It should also include your overall GPA of your
most recent studies, as well as your GRE and TOEFL scores. Moreover, it should list in detail any
programming and software development skills you may have.
-
Unofficial Transcripts. Please keep in mind that the transcripts need to be in English,
when submitting.
-
Personal Goal Statement. Your statement should be 1-2 pages long describing
your future academic and career goals.
-
Copies of Research Papers (optional). If you have authored or co-authored
any research papers, please send me soft copies of them.
Once I have reviewed your material, I will contact you to set up a teleconference (or face-to-face, if possible) meeting with you, during which you will also have the opportunity to ask me questions. Following this interview I may make you an offer to work with me. Depending on the specific circumstances, the offer may include financial assistantship in the form of a research assistantship and/or tuition support monies guaranteed for a period of time. After the offer has been made you will be given a short period of time to make your final decision whether commit to such an engagement or not. Keep in mind that, in order for me to accept you as my graduate mentee, first you must have been admitted by the University and our ECE Department (refer to our Graduate Admissions web page for more details). If needed, I can provide you with a recommendation letter to facilitate the admission process.
