Online Community of

Principal Investigators

Welcome to the NSF/CISE REU PI Website!

We are the community of Principal Investigators (PIs) of Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) programs funded by the Computer & Information Science & Engineering (CISE) Directorate of the National Science Foundation (NSF).

On these pages we hope you find a wealth of useful information, whether you are a current REU PI, a prospective PI, or just someone interested in our activities. You can find out about various announcements regarding the REU program and our community under our News page. In order to keep track of events that are important to our community, we employ a public Google calendar. Therefore, if you are interested in finding out, for example, when our next annual meeting is or when the next deadline for submitting an REU Site proposal is, then visit our Calendar page. Also, on our Meetings page you will find information about our past and upcoming annual meetings of our community.

A big part of our community's interactions occur in the Forums, where a variety of topics are being discussed. In particular, we have established Working Groups for particular focus areas that are discussed in the Special Interests forums. Even if you are not currently a PI and have general questions regarding the REU Program or our community, you can post your question(s) on our General Discussion forum after you first register with our website. Additionally, our website's Wiki constitutes the repository of our collective knowledge and experience. Here we share with the world among other information the lessons we have learned in the past, our best practices, resources we have found to be valuable in running our REU sites and any other kind of crystallized knowledge our Working Groups managed to gather and organize. Finally, if you are a newcomer to our site, our FAQ pages may be a good place to start.

As we mentioned earlier, we do hope you will find our site useful and informative. Visit us often, as we add information and content on a continuing basis. Thanks for stopping by!
